New pick up...

Can you explain to me exactly how you got yours on pellets in seven days? A sort of timeline if you will. Mine are eating freeze dried krill and bloodworms, which is what Jeff recommended. They're still settling in after the forty hour trip ended last night, but they seem to be pretty mellow. I don't expect them to be too difficult based on what I've seen in the first day. But since you've figured it out, I may as well copy what you did. ;)

The kelberi are another deal. They are just huddled in the corner all day long. I'm glad they are already pellet trained and hopefully they settle in over the next day or two.

4 days to be exact :)

I threw a BW block in to see if they took to BW and they did.

I defrosted a bunch of those BW blocks and crushed up pellets and mixed it together, basically marinating the BWs to have a taste of pellet, almost a paste. I fed them that for a day or 2 via spoon. I basically let them eat from the spoon so they learn that food comes from this spoon. Soon they were wacking the spoon.

On day 3, I chopped up pellets so its an actual pellet rather then a powder and also threw that into defrosted BWs. But this time I had more pellets than BW. Again eating from the spoon, guess they were so hungry they didn't care what they got a mouth full of and took what they could get.

On day 4, I defrosted BW in just very little purified water, removed all the BWs leaving only BW juices. And soaked the chopped pellet in that, fed them and they took to it, now they seem to love it. Btw I tried both cichlid bio gold and massivore, they highly prefer massivore lol. Hope this helps.

^^^^That is just like the method I use for training my small cichla. IMO it needs to be a sticky cause I get tired of repeating it. Great job on the quick pellet convert sevan! They"ll be growing like weeds! I think its the stink of the massivore that got em going.

Thanks G,

Ya it should be in a sticky.

Well mine aren't quite as cooperative...big surprise. They like to wait for the mess to fall apart and pick off the loose BWs that float by. Fortunately, one did hit the glob a couple of times. So I think it's just a matter of time. Thanks for your help. Gonna try this with my little monos(?) as well, who won't touch much of anything except for one specific brand of mysis shrimp. Cheers.

This works like a charm, got my pbass on massivore in 4 days as well, took only massivore today. Only difference is that I didnt soak the massivore in the BW juices, he was so hungry today hit the massivore no problem. Pretty awesome I used the other method with my mono's took longer, this method is much better. Thanks for posting this up.:D

Hope this is ok sevank21 but just wanted to share my pinima with a belly full of massivore
