That sounds good to me. I wanted slow growers :) big fish make a mess and summer is my busy season/less time for fish. So hopefully next winter they are around 6-7 inch. I just put some roses in and they were gone in minutes. Need to find some earthworms so I don't have to worry about diseases.

That works out perfectly then. I've had mine from about 1" last Feb and they range in size now (almoat exactly one year) from 4.5" up to 7" for the dominant male.

I'd keep them on a quality pellet rather than live food. You can cycle in some raw shrimp or tilapia from time to time, but a good quality pellet should be the main source of food.
