  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice little guys. Take good care of them.

No probs Shane, I've gotta get the rest out of that tank....... wish me luck ... LOL!! They are slow growers :( Gonna be beauties though. :)

I should think you'll definetely have a female as the biggers ones weren't caught (suspected males). Fingers crossed.

The festae won't break any speed records in growth, but a breeding pair will have some of the best coloration of any cichlid out there! Be patient and you'll have some spectacular fish!

So far my small cubans are keeping up with the red tiger motaguense I ordered from Rapps. Both species were around 1-1.25" less than a month ago (Aug 6) and the largest motas and cubans are just around 2". Heck, there's already a male & female cuban pair that are owning part of the tank!

all cuban keepers, I bought some cubans for the first time in June. They look like some faded jags. Do you know how long it takes for them to turn more balck and white?

I bought mine the first week of August and they were pretty bland with the obvious side spot being the only real markings. They were about 1" or so. 3 weeks later, they had put on size and started to color up enough that a couple were sexable.

Definitely do not look like a juvenile parachromis species, that's for sure! It's been a month since that photo, so I should get some updated ones done. The copper type color is starting to show up now. The largest are close to 2" now.
