I see. Can they handle weekly 50 to 60% water changes at 2 inches?

hmm...i started to do that only with my current batch since they were less than an inch.
and these is the only batch that has survived from less than 2" to over 6".
but i would recommend letting them get used to you being around the tank alot first.
then they will trust you.
just be careful not to spook them too much either.
move slowly.

i see. yeah, i have the tank set up in the kitchen so theyre used to people being around them. i put some other fish in there that aren't aggressive as dithers as well.

would 20% water changes be safer? i'll be very slow and careful not too spook them.

Since you like them so much and are so happy with them I dont think you paid too much for them- if they arent monos Ill bet that whatever they are becomes your favorite. Good luck

20 percent is fine as well...forgot to mention, when my guys were in the 15g,i was doing 50-60% water changes.
but only once every month.
they still grew well and fast.

Here is an update on these guys. Took them today right after I fed them. No casualties yet and still no confirmed I.D. Either mono or ocell. Any ideas?
