Really?! Yahhooo! :headbang2

Awesome pick ups. I would like to see an update on that Amphilo when he gets some size on him!

Thanks, and I will keep you updated. It will take a long time I'm sure. I heard that it can take a full year to get to 6''. That is pretty slow growing.

astatheros robertsoni.. I've got altifrons, nourisatti, and a robertsoni coming from Conkel next week. :headbang2

and yes, all the astatheros grow pretty slow..

I bet you can't wait. Asthatheros is the correct name now isn't it? Robertsoni really look more Thorichthys to me, and have similar behavior. I guess they get bigger then all of the current thorichthy species.

Yeah I'm excited.. I had 3 altifrons and one of the locals convinced me to sell them to him and he killed 1 of them. All astatheros remind me of thorichthys but they're not. I was actually thinking of ordering some aureus and elliotti from Conkel until I saw all the astatheros. The astatheros were cheaper and I like them better anyways. Robertsoni are probably the farthest astatheros from thoricthys though, they get mean so be warned.

Very nice, look forward to updates. I have what was sold as heros rostratum and they also are growing very slow. Similar growth?

Cool, I would like to have aureus and elliotti too. I have heard robertsoni are aggressive towards conspecifics or fish that look similar like geos, and thorichthy. It seems some people can mix in very large tanks. Is this true? What about oscars, convicts, HRP, salvini, or other medium or large cichlids?

Well my fish guy didn't order as much but I still got 6x 1.5" astatheros altifrons and a 4" pair of robertsoni. How are yours doing?

They are doing well. The robertsoni chases the HRP once in awhile, but that is it. As I'm typing I saw some of my swordtails mating. More food for the cichlids lol...

More pics I posted in another thread, but I really like these. The colors are really getting better.

nice! mine look much larger and don't have nearly as much color as yours. Do you feed yours anything in particular? I just planned on giving this one lots of sinking kensfish.com food.

Thanks, how big are yours? Mine are very small, the HRP isn't even 2'' and the robertsoni is a little over 2''. I have been feeding them tetra color flake food and blood worm cubes. Swordtail fry will be next on the menu.
Are these too small to be sexed?
