I agree it's a female loiselli. Not sure on the jag

Based on the vent pics, i'd say that the Jag is correctly the female and the second shot of the suspected "Loiselli" i don't know about them, but based on vent shot it looks male (due to the V and U shapes, V being for male and U for female.

Plus, from the markings on the jag seem female to me.
i could be wrong but either way nice pick ups.

and awesome tank set up :)

especially if these two have actually spawned together, then i would suspect the jag would of been the female, as you were told. good luck with them

You should have seen the filth in this tank! When I was netting them I had to move some rock work and there was crap flying everywhere...could hardly see the fish through all the algae on the glass...the woman who owned them wasn't home but her husband kept thanking me over and over for taking them haha.

Sounds like when I rescued two ~12" ART Oscars and a 15" Pleco. The guy was draining the tank so it wouldn't spill all over my truck and you could literally see nothing but brown. He had to shove the oscars against the glass so I could see them. They were actually stained yellow and brown. After a few weeks of pellets and the ocassional treat of grapes and strawberries, I nursed them back to vibrant color and the stains went away. Had to sell them because all of them in a 55g was just far far too cramped.

But back on topic, nice pickup and good luck! They seem to be a beautiful pair.

turns out these guys are not babies...the person before me had them for 6 years....how fast do these cichlids grow and will they grow anymore...I am kind of disappointed that I probably won't get to see them to their full potential
