nice looking wolf

Very cool fish, Malas are mean looking suckers, once they get some size on them I don't even mind that they don't swim around too much. Can anyone point me to an easy guide for their info, specs and care? Like tank dimensions, adult size ect.

wish we could get those here... i know what u mean by boring except during feeding lol

I mean dont get me wrong they are fascinating but when your waiting for one to grow out it can painstakingly rough.. Mine swims around most of the time or trys to "hide" in plain view so i am not really complaining.. but a large say 12" + mala or a nice size lacerdae or aimara is a pretty hard fish to beat in show quality.. its just waiting for them to get that big thats tough.. i was thinking about picking up the large aimara at SA but i dont have the tank to house him yet.. for right now this guy will do.. now only if i could get him to eat what i want him too lmao

Thats what I think too, but I am sure I wouldn't mind a 2 ft mala sitting there staring back at me with those crazy red eyes! :headbang2

i know what u guys mean, but sometimes when you get this type of fish it is shy for months and either hides or stays still. i live in hawaii and we have a native eleotris sleeper "goby" that gets up to 13" and can easily consume a fish 75% its length, awesome fish. i have a 8" one, so i was just leveling with u on the boring wait lol

I love those gobies.. gobies in general are Badass.. lol i dont mind the wait.. i just have to not go into other fish stores and get tempted my other fish untill this guy is big.. becuase once its big i will just be like.. what a waste of money the wolf will just eat him..

haha that is my problem too, i get bored and try to add tank mates, haha but it doesnt go good lol

Dont get me wrong i have always been fascinated by wolves.. but sometimes, well most of the time they can be dreadfully boring when not feeding.. i have had wolves before and i would always ell guests look at my fish and they would be like "that rock".. If mine was 13" i would probably like him very much too.. but i havent seen any wolves that really satisfy my needs to be a show fish..

thats why i dont believe in species tanks.
i always keep wolf fish with other fish.
