I went on a fishing trip this weekend and I found this guy at night near our campsite. I'm pretty sure it is a glossy snake (Arizona elegans) but I just wanted to double check with you guys. It was found in southeast Colorado in a rocky area near a lake surrounded by plains.

I'm having trouble finding much useful info on this species, so anything you can tell me about them would be great!

It looks like either a corn snake or eastern milk snake hard to tell from those pictures though.
The pattern on the head is very corn like

it is a corn snake. I am 99% sure. A picture of the underside would confirm it though.

That is indeed a corn snake.

Really want better, more clear pics that show true color and belly pattern... Everyone jumps immediately to corn but the pattern and colorization just seems a bit off...

Great Plains Ratsnake, or a Colorado Spotted Rat ( Isolated version of a Great Plains Rat ).......Not a Corn Snake......
