New pickup, L095 Orange Cheek Pleco

So I’m sure people are starting to realize my true passion is plecos. Well I’ve spent many dollars on many plecos and I barely get to see them. I’ve been reading about L095’s and everything I’ve read says they are pretty active and don’t hide much. They are also gorgeous, bonus!!!

I finally got my hands on one today and it’s been cruising my tank since it’s been in there.

Fairly impressed thus far and I’ve already seen it more than some of my other plecos!

Sweet.. what is the size of the L095? This species is quite gentle, less frequent hiding.. will come out as soon as you put the food into the aquarium.. but they seems to be agressive with each other. Great new addition.

This guy is 9 inches. Didn’t hide at all. Very elegant looking when gliding around the aquarium.

Depends if you are willing to pay at least $200 for 8-10" one

Yes he was very expensive. They are not seen available often here in Canada…I paid $300 for this one. I feel he was worth it due to the rarity, size, and quality.

so far it’s my favourite pleco, very outgoing

max size is approximately 15 inches, I’ll most likely be upgrading this tank as it grows

Beautiful pleco! Awesome pickup! Looks like it is settling in very nicely!!

It has been acting like it hasn’t even been moved…it had a 3.5 hour travel to my tank and it’s not phased by it, it even ate last night with the other fish.

Easiest pleco to photograph so expect lots of pics lol I love the little bits of orange that highlights each individual body plate

mil not sure if it’s also doing algae cleanup but it’s been on all the plants, decor, and glass rasping
