I thought the same thing when I saw the pictures. And price has to be an indicating factor. WC cichla fetch far more than $7 a piece.
 
The guy at the counter said they get their fish from all over, florida, North Jersey which is Merrit distributers, and china. When I asked if they knew the type, they had no idea, so price is out of the question. Is it true that not all tems have the white blotches? Monos and ocellaris I thought do not have the black on the cheeks like this one.

Markings Black markings arranged in and around a horizontal band running from the eye to the posterior
edge of the operculum in juveniles. May be represented by irregular or isolated blotches or small spots, as in C. temensis. Often referred to as cheek markings

Thats a full grown temensis.. when at juvie size they show a horizontal bar going right through the fish from tail to mouth with 4 single rows of spotting.. the fish in the video is not a tem.. see below for a juvie tem..
