if you intend to keep it get it into a slightly larger enclosure - not too large though as they definitely seem to 'tame' down more easily initially in a smaller enclosure - I keep a few different salvator and sub species.
mostly they become tolerant - only a couple of captive breds that I have would be described as 'tame'
initially I think your diet is fairly good - make sure that the crickets are either well gut loaded or dusted with a calcium or multivitamin powder. feed pretty much 30% insects and 70% meat - chicken meat is fine but try and offer small mice as it grows.
handle it regularly if you can - this may well help in acclimatising it.

As soon as it can take mice with fur I'd go with that as the main diet, best thing for them imo, I had monitors grow a few inches per month with that and optimal temperature, humidity and other conditionschannarox;2478027; said:so i feed it meat even now?
i was told to stay off meat for a while.
but i very occasionally feed chicken.
