A while back me and Andy woods was watching a juvi dovii in one of his grow out tanks. Every time a big texas went near it the dovii changed and looked female, soon as the texas went away it went back to a male pattern. Not as easy to sex as I thought

interesting ....my larger male Dovii is housed w/ a pair of Texas in the 125g, but this little smaller 4" Dovii is not. Tankmates include the Jaguar, Barred Midas, 2 male Firemouths, 2 female Convicts, 1 female Sveni Pike, 1 Jack Dempsey (probably male), 3 Colombian Sharks and a Lima Shovelnose cat.

wow, that's a stunning beast, but why would you want to risk his health by feeding him live goldfish? Even if you want to do feederfish, there are dozens of other species that are much more nutritious after a quarantine and Polyguard. Goldfish are useless IMO.

Go hit the Fishing Tackle Shop and get a few dozen Bass Shiners if you want to feed him feederfish that are nutritious - or go with earthworms, crickets, Dubia roaches, CB Hornworms, Superworms, etc.
