New pickupl L-114 Full orange tail

Nope, it's L114. For L600, the spots on the head are a lot smaller or "muddier." The spots are about the same size throughout the body, so L114. Contrast with L600 pics at: www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=810
Nice pick up. I have 3 that I have had for 3 years now. Getting beastly all are around 8 inches very awesome Pleco to keep
There are hybrid leprocanthis running around now... so be aware of that, that being said i ve never seen a l114 with a full orange tail, either way it's a georgeous fis.
Hope mine grows as big as yours. Any pictures?
Thanks for your comment. Unungy has one similar to mine that he got in on a shipment. Not sure if his was wild caught or captive-bred. Curious if he can comment on the subject.
Thanks. Reason he was picked up was bc of the orange like you said. We got the same eye for beauty =).
From reading different sources, head spots seems to be the general way of determining the difference between the two. Not tail fin or dorsal fin. Thank you for confirming.
I believe the smaller ones tend to have more orange. What's the size of this specimen? I got one last year at 2" (SL) that had a full orange caudal/tail fin; the orange is now going away at 3" (SL).
