New pickupl L-114 Full orange tail

Ive never seen one with a full orange tail before

Thanks, this is the first batch the lfs brought in have them with full orange tail. All previous L114 often have spots in tail .. some less, others more.

I believe the smaller ones tend to have more orange. What's the size of this specimen? I got one last year at 2" (SL) that had a full orange caudal/tail fin; the orange is now going away at 3" (SL).

interesting. does it turn into a duller orange or yellowish? interested in seeing the difference in pix if you have them

Thanks for your comment. Unungy has one similar to mine that he got in on a shipment. Not sure if his was wild caught or captive-bred. Curious if he can comment on the subject.




Thanks. Reason he was picked up was bc of the orange like you said. We got the same eye for beauty =).




From reading different sources, head spots seems to be the general way of determining the difference between the two. Not tail fin or dorsal fin. Thank you for confirming.
