New pickups! Possible Xanthic Royal?...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hows this boy then, now it's settled a bit, what is it looking like? Did you get the other 2 in the end?

when they've been kept in the dark, or dark water for sometime, they'll be like that for a little while, but change back to normal. I one time got a bag of them, and thought I had hit gold, they all looked pink/marbled, but 2 days later, all changed back to normal. I'm not hating, if they stay like that then awesome!

It still looks the same, but now it has a dark line going down it's belly.

It still needs quite a bit more time to settle in fully. He hides behind the spray bars instead of the driftwood which I thought was odd.

He did go under the DW but I've yet to see him munching on it, yet his teeth are getting long. We'll see.

Oh, and I'll be picking up the other two this weekend, if they're still there, and depending on if this lil guy in fact keeps his current color during that time.

Cool, this is the type of experience I've been looking for. Nobody at plecfanatics can really ID it.

It was being kept in blackwater, but that LFS has a high turn over rate, so I don't think they've had them very long.

When I go back this weekend I'll see if I can find out more about where they were imported from, etc...

Wes, what color were the eyes of those that you got when they had the marble pattern?

Thanks guys :)

Great pick ups. And if they turn out to be xanthic then that might be the score of a lifetime!

I saw you on PF too! :D

Great find!

Well it's a Panaque cf nigrolineatus, but that's about as far as you can go, no L numbers on those photos... nothing looks like it with no collection information, just about all the system is based on.

I just took another shot of it hiding behind a spraybar.

So far the color seems to be holding, but we'll see in the next couple of days.

Very interesting. Like everyone else, I'm curious on how those will develop.

Wes's years of experience prove to be correct! :) thanks bro.
