Oregon, it's part of 'Murica!
Took a 2 hour drive to Portland to visit The Wet Spot and Pets On Broadway. Picked up 2 Synspilum fry for $4 each, 2 small Salvini for $4 each, and a 5-6" Carpintis for $18. Hopefully I got a male and female salvini because I would like to breed them, I got one with a black spot on the dorsal and one without that is more blue.

Can anyone sex my Carpintis? I think its male but not sure. Also is it breeding size?

I would have got the P. bifasciatus they had there instead of the synspilum personally. The bifasciatus looked crazy red and nice for being 2".

I was up there Wednesday.

The carpintis looks male.

I was thinking about it, they have a nice selection of vieja.

Side note, talked to them about the Trimacs and they said they were real. They also said they got an angry message from someone who bought them (Honda) so they had to double check.

Isnt the way to tell Salvini apart is the black spot on the lower cheek? Im not sure if its the male of female with the cheek spot but this is what Ive heard. I may be wrong. Can someone clarify?

The black spot on cheek helps but isn't 100% from what i've been told. Black spot on dorsal fin = female. hope that helps

Who'd they get them from then if they went and double checked?

NIce fish. The Salvinis look like a pair to me. The tex looks like a probable male.
