well, its been a yr since i had some new pics. my mom took them while i held him so they arent the greatest. yep, thats me. some background info. i bought the little guy when he was the size of a 50 cent piece back in may 2000. he grew 4 inches a yr for the first 3 yrs and has since slowed down. he is between 16-18 inches in shell length now as he has been the last 2-3 yrs. im guessing he is about 8.5 yrs old now(8 yrs i have had him in may 2008). he is heavy!!!! im guessing 30-40 pounds. maybe bigger. (im better at estimating length not wieght though)

he looks ready to F! u up lol

i cant wait till mine gets that big its about 10" shell now......... great ali snapper....

hes not to bad. you pick him up and he just sits still while you are holding it with his mouth open. way more calm then the commons i have held. i did try to set him down and hold a yard stick on his back for size comparison, but he actually was turning around and chasing me!!!! lol. he has never done that before. this summer i will have to take him outside on the grass. i can get way better pics then.

i have had experience with commons before, not the nicest bunch of turtles.
i'm guessing the stock tank is his.

correct, its a 300 gallon stock tank by rubbermaid. i use an 800 watt titanium heater to keep the water in the upper 70s to low 80s. i use a pondmaster1250 for filtration. i also have a small eheim ( it think rated for 40 gallons) for water flow over heater.

Common snappers are a lot more active, no question. That's a big turtle!!!!!! He's still got a lot more growing to do too!!!!

Amazing...although it makes me want to feed mine less lol
