Thanks for the heads up on the rock, I'm pretty sure that's how my other front died. I'm actually going to be getting rid of the fronts I have, because I like the cyprichromis and I'm crazy enough to try to keep aulonocaras and cyps together :D. I'm actually thinking that the aulono/cyp combo will work. The fish seem to occupy two seperate areas in the aquarium as it is right now, and I don't think the aulonocara will get big enough to eat them. My latest concern is growth rate differences ;).

They occupy the same zones. Unless of course the peacocks are hiding. Mid zones are where they both like to be.

They do? I was under the impression (from what I've been told and what I've seen) that the aulonocaras like to be "in" the rocks, or right above it. My cyps seem to stay mid to upper stratospheres in my aquariums.

Ah ok well that makes sense. Either way, do you have any experience keeping Aulonocaras and Cyprichromis together? I'd really like to hear somthing other than the local guy I talked to all the time about he. Although the local guy is really good...haha.

I have not kept them together, and I do not keep cyps, but I know many who do. When observing their tanks I see that the cyps take the same areas the peacocks do. The cyps when scared dart for the rocks for safety. The peacocks do the same. Seeing as the peacocks are rather more aggressive than the cyps, they would easily be pushed aside.
