New Pike ID

Have you had him long and how did he look when he was younger? The reason I ask is because the lfs get shipments from Coast Tropicals and they have Lents & Strigs, only rarely do they get belly crawlers. That's why I was thinking that it could be one of those. The price, $2, was with all of the store credit that I have and employee discount at one of the places. At the one that I work at these were special orders of Pike, MOD could tell me which kind because GM put the order through.
 
The most common pikes are belly crawlers, sveni , Venezuelan that is in the pic u posted.. There are so many different species of pikes out there...lents arnt easy to come by u most likly have to special order..if your lookin for something rare check out tangled up in cichlids he has some pikes in stock I believe...

Thanks, I will check him out, he's not available for shipping right now though. How can I tell a juvenile sveni from a Venezuelan? I'm pretty sure it's a female (pink belly). It has a red border on the dorsal and spots on the head, solid lateral stripe, small spot on the tail anything else I can't remember.

The pike you described is venezuela pike. The spots on the head is the giveaway.

Here's a video of a juvenile sveni, notice that it does not have spotting
