I am going to be adding a small group (6-8) of Green Cincta from Peru tomorrow. I am pretty excited, been a long time since I have kept Cincta. I think that these guys are going to be the pikes that swim with my Rays for the long run. Anyone have any thoughs on this?

Pics after they settle. :headbang2

Thanks! The tank that they are going into now is 72" x 40" x 20", I have the stand built for a 120" x 48" 600 gal tank, just trying to decide how to build it.

The other pikes I have are: 7- Atabapo II, 2-Celidochilus, 1-sp. Saxatillis (Uruguay), 6-Sveni, a pair of Minuano and 8-Belly Crawlers.

I like the list! And I'm assuming the Uruguayan pikes are going to have a boost in their numbers come November or December!!!

You bet they will!!! Will you be joining us? I do believe that you may have actually been involved in the collection of the Celidos and the Sax type. . . The only ones left from my 09 trip are the Minuano.

Good call on the cinctas ... I love their tail pattern. The blues would probably rate as my favorite of the larger pikes, but the greens are nice too and still easily within the top 5.

Oh I wish!!! The funds just are not adding up for a big trip this year :( I was on the trip last year with Ken and Chelsea and we caught sooooo many fish! Are you going on Ken's trip this year? But if I get the opportunity you bet I'll be there in a heart beat!

Nope, I am supposed to be on a trip with another guy from Winnipeg, a Bermudian and maybe a few others, Felipe said he had a couple guys from California that could join us if we needed/wanted more people, I wondered if you were one of them. We are set to do an east coast swing, I haven't been there, so, excited to see a different part of the country.

On another note, I ended up with 12 of them, the "shop" wanted to thin the heard (was 40) so that they were easier to deal with there. I ended up taking some for a buddy of mine that is at ACA this weekend, he will get em when he comes back. They have a little Ich from the stress of transport, it seems most pikes get it when they are shipped from South America direct to Canada, it's a long haul. Since I helped land the fish and help out there a lot, I decided to take them before they were treated, I can deal with ich myself LOL I will wait a day or two before I take some pics, let them settle in, so, on the weekend I will probably show the new guys off.

I think I'd get ich too if I went from a jacuzzi to an igloo ... :screwy::grinno:
