Ive got a friend who wants me to set up a Piranha pond in his basement. I was thinking of using one of those walmart/target pools. My only question is....is there any potential problems of piranha biting through the liner?

I would also like to ask people who might want to just say "Yes for sure they have big teeth!" not to post because that is not an answer that is an uneducated guess. However if someone knows they have a tendency and ability to nibble on a flat surface then im all ears.

Thanks Alot guys
Brad

P.S. If its a go I will make sure to make a detailed thread on the set up!!! :naughty::headbang2

when i had my reds the only thing they didnt bite through was the glass lol. they bit through airlines almost every day and gnawed on plastic plants all the time. i would immagine a p running into the side of a rubber liner could easily puncture it.

yea but can they even touch it with their teeth?!?!

Please see my complex scientific diagram illustrating the concept of my thought

try biting your wall...it would take quite a bit of effort to take out a chunk.

LMAO, I'm loving the scientific diagram, FEF!!

You forgot that most piranhas appear to have an underbite (like an English Bulldog) or at least all 4 of mine do....lol

You could try it, just be prepared in case it broadsides it and punctures it somehow....

Good Luck!!

P.s. I had to save that pic to my computer!! ^^

theyll be fine...I have a friend with a shoal of red bellies in a pond with standard pond liner without a problem...

Actually Ive been looking into the big water troughs for agricultural use. Anyone know the best place to get one of these?

tractor supply store.. i'm thinking of picking up the 300 gallon rubbermaid this summer. google " TSC " , the tractor supply store website should come up at the top
