Are you talking about the collection point??? Cause it looks like Crassipinnis to me... That being the sp. Correct?

I agree with Tongue33, IMO it is almost definitely a Astronotus crassipinnis...
And yes, that is the correct spelling
IMO the distinct banding and coloration is the key in ID'ing this species.


A rare find, some are willing to pay several hundred $$$ for these fish.

Calling a Oscar a 'Xingu' would simply be referring to the area of it's collection (Rio Xingu aka Xingu River) if it was wild-caught.
I'm not sure if A. crassipinnis are in the Rio Xingu, I'll have to look that up.
