I use Black Skirt Tetras and I have seen a substantial decrease in aggression between the festae since I added them. They still hate each other but they seem much more relaxed... and they have only killed 1 tetra so far.

I have 6 festae ranging from 1.5" to 3" in a 120 gal tank. I only plan on keeping a single female in this tank and (hopefully) a pair in my pond.
The tetras were not meant as dithers, I just added them because the tank looked empty... but I've noticed a difference in their behavior. They've been in there for a week.

Interesting. Good luck with your group, man. Totally jealous of you Florida folks, getting to keep outdoor cichlid ponds and all! LOL... can only do that seasonally up here, and then you better get those fish inside before the temps drop!
