Hopefully they last at least 5 years

I wouldnt be worried at all man... Theres always been debate about albino/color morph animals having inferior genes. They seem to survive in the wild and grow to adult sizes...mutated fish also... so theres always hope and opposition to what u can read negative about the topic... Personally i think its a bit of a hoax due to lack of study on the subject and lack of rare wild animals being recorded rather than lab/cb animals watered down anyway. Theres more and more accounts these days fresh to marine of color morph animals due to the camera phone age and popularity of fishing.. I tried finding some scholary articles about the subject for u lastnight actually but it seems its 50/50 still...albino deer for example are protected in some states and seen as something special to keep around... other states promote killing/taking them stating they have inferior genes. I think these animals have just as good a chance to thrive in captivity as any other. Human error/equipment failure will always be the leading cause of death in captivity IMO...

More related to ur specific case... ive owned dozens of reg. rtc... and 1 just like urs... my xanthic has grown just as quick and exhibits as much vigor as any reg. one ive kept just the same. time will tell for both of us i guess.

I agree with the sentiment but there is a huge difference between purposely trying to breed for an albino and then nature naturally producing one.

i have to agree with ya also... didnt want the O.P. to think the extreme end of the spectrum in that his fish will drop dead immediatly due to the morph. Always room for debate/opinions on either side.

How comon are mutations that affect life span?
Very.

Another thing to note: animals with no or less pigment tend to absorb B12 vitamins less efficiently, so adding extra B12 laden foods such as mushrooms and silver perch can help them grow and live better.

id expect at least 12 if they made it this far.

I've seen several wild albino animals, the main problem seems to mostly be predation.

In captivity give the some shade and some extra B12s and they should be fine
