Did you rinse him off before putting him back in the tank?

The lint and what not that gets stuck to them can cause bacterial infections if they lost too much slime coat.

No, I didn't rinse him off

The only thing I could think about was getting him back in as fast as I could. His lip got a little cut from banging into the top too. I will keep a close eye on him.

Had some jumpers myself before I took tank lid security seriously.

bichirs are pretty much all muscle once you get past the gill covers and theres a lot of power they can use in short bursts.
