New polypterus

I'm not sure if tank size factors in or if that's a big enough gap to be worrisome.
(Well it definitely is for the 3-4 inch fish, but you already have them separated out.)

I also know that clm08k 's 8ish inch Moke ate her 3ish inch Delhezi... and that's an upper jaw.

This does happen and seen in smaller polys less than 12inches. Especially if live food is given.

I assume tank size matters as it'll get polys into more contact with each other.

I personally thought 2 juvie 4 inch Senegal were safe with a 8 inch Ornate and the Endli was approximately the same lenght so was wondering why the 2 Sens were hanging by the overflow. Unfortunately found out why the hard way between the Endli and Ornate the Sens were eaten. Thats why I will never mix Sens with Ornate's or LJ polypterus.

i strongly suggest removeing the Senegalus.

I dont think tank size will matter, remember this fish are cold blooded hardcore hunters, they are predator given any chance to eat something that will fit their mouth they would do it.
I know juvies are more cannibals than adult poly, but a bigger poly either its 10"+ sharing with a smaller poly or fish it will try to eat and hunt.
I had a 14" endli ate a 6" sen, 5" golddust, 5" palmas polli and a 6" delhezi. You miss a feeding schedule and you have small polys mix with big polys, big lower jaws mix with small upper jaws next thing you know one it going to be missing.
I even seen one of my 13" endli attampted to eat to eat a 5" silver dollar.
So i would listen to the pips here and remove whats need to be remove.

All a gamble never had a poly eat another but it can happen. I would be more concerned with the PB especially at night after lights out just keep an eey out and also keep them well fed. Keep up on water changes to promote optimal growth

i strongly suggest removeing the Senegalus.

Currently the Sens are quite large in comparison to the other fish. There is no way the Endli could fit them into his mouth even if he tried. Also they are quite fat so he could not swallow them lol. The sens were the first poly's I bought so other bichirs have been introduced into their tank when they have become available all polys are rare here. When the Endli gets to a point where I could safely say yep he could smash those sens if he wanted I will remove them. But I also noticed from your situation you had larger poly's already and introduced smaller sens which wouldn't of helped. I also noticed my Ornates are becoming increasing more dick like every day as they have packed on some decent size lately. Something took a bite out of one of my other fish the other day and I believe it to be ornate related.

That's crazy about the silver dollar. I recently added two smaller silver dollars to my larger group of 5 but luckily the endli's haven't attempted to eat them yet. I have no intention of adding my 3rd smaller ornate and 2 new laps to the main tank until they have packed on some epic size. I know what your saying about if it fits in its mouth it will be eaten as when I first bought the endli I put him in quarantine with a random goldfish that came with a tank. It was a good size but came back 45 minutes later and it was no where to be found. I don't feed live food just carnivore pellets, shrimp and white fish.

I heard they are aggressive to eachother no uj lj have some issues
