Clear water without a UV sterilizer? I'm so jealous. I have a a sterilizer running and that is the only reason that water is clear. You can see right to the bottom now! When I put it on, we found stuff that went missing for a couple of years (cover for pump, airstone, 2 bluegills lol) Now the water is super clear, but usually as soon as it is perfect, it rains, so it is a constant battle. What part of Maryland are you in? I live in northern delaware and if I were you I would check about your neighbors pond's depths. Ours is 2 1/2 and it doesn't freeze over totally, because there is an air pump.
Is that an Ogon in the first pic? When I first saw it i thought it was an oddball fish because of the lighting. Also, my favorite koi is black, and another reason why you need to keep your water clear. Can't see them with dirty water!
