Paid $20 each they are all pullets (females)
Honestly im not sure how big they will get .I know the breed was developed by crossing a silkie bantam with a turken and I don't know how big those are. They have black skin, black meat, and even black bones. I just got them yesterday and they are friendly not all scared and trying to run away from me. I like them a lot. Really cool for being a chicken.

Silkies stay pretty small as do turkens; they should stay closer to silkie size, though, so don't expect them to get much bigger. Contrary to popular belief, there's no turkey genetics in turkens rather they just have a genetic mutation that causes them to have featherless necks. You can expect to get some small pinkish-white or light brown eggs; both of the parent breeds are good setters & brooders, too, so you can let them hatch the eggs & raise the chicks if you get a rooster.

If you really want to have some fun, get an Ameraucana or Araucana rooster to breed to them; those breeds lay blue or green eggs, and the resulting offspring will, too, as well as look really cool. I did a Ameraucana rooster to silkie hen cross once, and the offspring came out pretty cool with some really neat colors; the F2's were even better.

I'm confused...

interesting, 1/4 turkey? it will be interesting to see how they grow out.
you'll need to post how the eggs taste.

Can't keep roosters where I live but I can take hens back to breeder and he will pen them with his roosters for a week we split any eggs that are laid at his house and ill still get fertile eggs for about ten days after they are back at my house.

There it's no turkey in them they are 100% chicken. The turken is a,pure breed chicken that looks like a turkey because it has a naked neck hence the name.

That's too bad that you can't keep roosters where you live.

Yes and no. it be nice to have the fertile eggs and the protection a rooster provides but I think I'd be to tempted to break its neck for crowing at 4am. Besides once my dane figures out I like them and want them around they will have one damn good protector.

Interesting looking chickens. Black bones? That's really weird.. Chickens are something I'd actually like to keep but aren't allowed within so far into the city. They're really interesting to watch and keep the yard free of bugs. Love having them around.

Check your city ordinances many cities are adopting food producing animal ordinances. in some cases up to eight hens and two pygmy goats are allowed. Im waiting for my city to pass I newer version so I can get some goats, six kids use a lot of milk. Im also hoping they up the number for allowed hens.

The black meat and bone thing is really weird.I've only seen pictures but processes carcasses they indeed do have blue black skin, black meat and black bones. I've never heard of any other animal with bones any color but white meat is always red pink or white to brown if cooked wonder what causes them to be different.
