The black meat and bone thing is really weird.I've only seen pictures but processes carcasses they indeed do have blue black skin, black meat and black bones. I've never heard of any other animal with bones any color but white meat is always red pink or white to brown if cooked wonder what causes them to be different.
I'm pretty sure I could get away with having a few hens (the people down the street have peacocks) since I live in a city that is country oriented but the housing I live in would not go for it. I plan on moving by the end of this year, maybe into the country, therefore I'll be able to keep what I want. Goats are actually on that list too.

Ive been working on getting a zebu heifer to milk but well have keep it at my inlaws house a few miles away. Unless I can get the guy down the street to let me work out a trade for his pasture.

Mini I can get bred cows for 800. It drives me nuts that the people 50 yards down the street are zoned for livestock and im not. I want to start my own raw milk dairy but money is tight and land is expensive here. But im still working at it.

I feel the same when I see people with a crapload of animals and here I am limited to a few tanks and one cat. Well hopefully that works out for you. Defiantly would be a money saver.
