Thanks Yabbrox that is cool and to hear the birds in the background... that is so nice and relaxing. who wouldn't enjoy that with a great pond and thefish feeding. well worth all the effort put into this project. great job

No problem and it's getting clearer by the day

I think the pond has hit the pinch point where there is less and less dirt to filter out, this morning it look like another 1.5'' of clarity has been achieved over night

Seriously this is insane, it's clearing before my eyes

great to hear I will be starting to build a pondless watrfall at my parents house when I get back there in a week. this has given me alot of stuff to think about as I planned it. being its pondless its alot less work but at least its a start. I will start a thread as we get going. nice to hear the water is finally startingto really clear up.

Thanks Green, I've just measured the visibility and it's at 36''. That's 13'' to 36'' in about 2 weeks, now most of the water is clear it won't take much longer.

As I'd planned to clean the filters anyway tomorrow I'm going to do it and then just leave them running.

Good luck on the waterfall, link me the thread if I miss it:)

Checked the settling chamber today, yet again another sturgeon had gone through and this time a baby ghost as well. There must be something good to eat in that pipe;)

Couldn't believe it today, went out and there it was, the bottom of the pond. It no where near clear all the way down but it's there:

The green putty on the return pipe is 2 inches off the bottom, it's very hard to take photos in bright sunshine(without my DSLR:irked:) but the hose pipe is lying on the bottom:headbang2

Rinsed all the matting and again it was very dirty but from now on I'm going to leave it running for a month. It's nice to see the design and planning finally paying off.

Oh, and you know how I said it was stocked up for now and I wouldn't be getting more fish;)
