ya I would recommend getting a circular saw or if you cant afford one atleast get a hand saw...

and like Zen said I would HIGHLY recommend replacing those 2x4 with pieces that have been cut square or you may run into problems with rocking/swaying...

there square, in the pic there not drilled in just laying on there. the only cuts that were not square, are the ones u see us cutting with the sawzall
