He's getting big! He's almost 4 inches now when he's stretched out. Swims around with his back arched and his tail tucked to the side alot though. I think he thinks the smaller he is the harder he is to see. He's constantly hunting. Seems to get fatter and fatter every day!!!! He's a very smart fish and LOVES to eat!!! Put his food in with a little green net, when he sees it his colors lighten and he gets terribly excited. His eyes are so cool cause they go around 360 degrees and he can look in front of him with one, and behind him with the other at the same time..... If you put something right in front of him his eyes cross, it's so cute!!!!!Cyclop3000 said:Yep they need to file their teeths. Puffers have 2 upper teeths and 2 lower teeths that are fused together to form some sort of a beak. This beak never stops to grow and puffers maintain good teeth lenght by filing their teeths on such things as snails.
In larger puffers you can also feed clams with shells, crayfish, market lobster/crab parts, etc... But as I was thought by TheRealClare, do not ever feed mussels with shells to them, as mussels have a toxin in their shells that can make puffers sick and potentially kill them.
Puffers are so great, nice pics Puffer_Girl...how big is this fella now?
