New pups to the crew

So I finally pulled the pin on buying some new rays after losing my big guy a few months ago. Got a heap of fish growing out and thought it was the best time. Two pure Motoro rays and a hybrid . Added them in last night already smashing nls and hikari pellets. All females and residing in my 10x3x3.

These guys are little characters there chowing down on pellets 3 times a day at the moment and gaining some weight one motoro and the hybrid especially. One pups still looking a little thin but it’s only been a few days. Do you recommend pure pellet diet for now or substitute some with meatier foods?Little pic of the hybrid she’s darkening up a little interested to see what she’ll look like.

I think it is typically personal preference from what I understand. I know ray guys that only feed pellets and their rays are healthy and breed fairly consistently.

I also know other ray guys that don’t feed pellets at all because of the mess they make, and they are also turning out pups fairly regular too.

my thoughts are as such. If you have them eating good pellets, that’s great. If you are planning to train them on other meaty foods, you may want a cleaner fish that can grab all the excess food that the rays don’t take. Unless you want to go fishing out uneaten shrimps and such from that big ol tank on a daily.

I like to do a mix of both pellet and meaty frozen foods. I have a tinfoil barb and a flagtail as my clean up crew. All of which are subject to change at my rays discretion. Lol.

Been in the tank 2 weeks now and they seem to be settling in quite well. Eating anything that hits the bottom and gaining weight. Any guesses to the hybrids mix? I just bought it as a hybrid. I’m presuming Motoro x
