I'm sorry I was wrong that is not a yok sac. To be honest I didn't even look at the pics when I posted the first time I was just going off what I read. Looks and sounds like what can happen when a ray is fed too much. But I don't know why this would happen to a pup.

Bummer about the pup. Hope the other is still doing ok. I agree with the others, it was definitely not yolk sac. More like a birth defect imo. I have seen a similar occurrence with a first time shark mother. After that all her offspring were healthy.
