How long are your lights on at the same intensity?
If all day this may be the problem.
Even when trying grow plants, light can vary.
In my current tank , sun comes in around 8AM, remains about 3 hours, then the tank in in the shade until about 3PM when it gets another 2 hours of moving sun.
The plants grow like crazy, and algae is almost non existent (using sand as substrate

from about 11 AM to 3 PM the tank is lit with only ambient light, like the pic below.

By the way Goyder River and Murry River Rainbows are often available these days, there may be others.

I keep my lights on from 7:00 am-10:00ish pm. Maybe I should lower it to, 7:00 am-6:00 am?

That's your algae problem right there.
I assume you put them on to feed in the morning, and they are on all day and thru the evening when you might be home.
If it were me, I'd have them on a staggered schedule, on a timer.
On in the early morning to feed for a couple hours, off while your at work, or school, and on again just before you get home until bed.

Went to turn on the lights to check on my fish, not good, one of my rainbows is dead. And one of my algae eaters has a swollen bloody eye. PLEASE HELP, PICTURE COMING IN SOON.
