New RARE Eel-tailed African Arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The other one that came in has it's tail, but this guy is big enough not to get eaten by my big Azul. The other one was eating too, but I didn't feel like keeping it in a grow out for months.

I doubt it's a mutation, probably damaged as a juvenile and the dorsal and anal fin have grown in together.

its nice..but did you mean like actual eel..or eel tailed? lol but yea it is a beauty

I meant it has an "eel-tail", which typically means the dorsal, anal and caudal fin are joined together.

This is very interesting, I have never seen this before, it would be nice if it was genetic, but I'm leaning toward simonL's opinion. Great fish either way.

is he eating yet??????????

Yep, guzzling the gravel like a huge geophagus cichlid...
