New rare pickup: aluminum catfish!

Sweet fish bro, but I always thought that Aluminum Catfish was the lfs name for Salmon Tailed Catfish, which are brackish...? How big do these get?

Nose and color are different, but he might be washed out in the picture. How long after you put him in the tank did you take the pictures? Sweet pickup, and congrats, you've made me jealous. :ROFL:

He's gonna get to over a foot, though.

If he does get that big, I'll have something ready. I'm not parting with this fish easily.And yay, ive made people jealous! ive finally got a monster on my hands...

C. auratus gets 13" or so... but all the reports ive heard on "aluminum cats" have said they hit 8" or so...

Africa. cant remember the river names, and im still trying to get a correct i.d.... ill probably have to wait till he's about 3" or so to get a good i.d.

since its extremely hard to get a correct species i.d. with cats in the Chrysichthys genus, it could be anywhere from just under 12" to just over 2 feet..... i'm still trying to get an exact species i.d.
