Is there any difference in the temperment with assam and rainbow?

Having both id say the assam is less active and stays at the bottom more.

This is one of my bleheri (rainbow)
Look at his tail. You see the orange? thats rainbow snakehead. In your pic, you see the tail has blue stripes and no orange? Thats assam.

aah thanks about that, the shop has also recently told me that it was an assam, also thanks for pointing out the bichir, i really would have had a problem, i have taken it back to the shop now.

By the way, apart from appearence with the assam and rainbow, what other differences are there between them?

Hi,

all channa are stressed, as you can see from their body colouring and markings, especially the sp. Assam doesnt look happy.
Take all channa out of the oscar tank, and give them a tank with lots of cover, the shown tank is absloutely not Channa suitable. NO usable cover, big threatening fish(oscar), stressing out loud bubbling airpump (absolutely not necessary)
Cheers

I know you are trying to help but Please make sure you read posts fully. My channa have never been in with my oscars, These pics were taken when they were new to the tank, which will explain why they are stressed, juveniles also do have less colour than adults, this i have just learnt in the last few days of having them. These pics were taken a while ago and my channa tank is now full of plant life which i have learnt recently, makes channas more comortable. I have dimmed the light in the tank and finally have removed heater as my channas are sub-tropical.

Also, in my earlier pics i had to take out all ornaments to take pictures for you and 'tokyofacemask' which caused them stress. In my later pics there are 3 hides for my 3 channas which, understandably, may not all be visible.

However,
I appreciate your help and agree with you about the airpump, that will be sorted out if i see any probs. As i said these pics were taken a while ago and the channas are now not stressed at all, they are very relaxed. I would not think of putting my channas in with my Oscars at this size.

Thanks, Danny

Im struggling to bring the temp. down on my snakehead tank as they are all sub-tropical. I have even taken out the heater but the temp is still at 24-25 c.
Could someone please help me out as to ways to cool down my tank water.

Thanks, Danny
