yupz!!!! its definitely a P.menchacai aka Tiger ray.

both rays in the pixs are Tiger rays....the lighter coloured one is a newly acquired at that time, and the other one has been in the tank for quite some time already. note the difference in colouration once they are climatized in e tank.

David - thanks for the vote of confidence. It could be that the PH where i got the ray from was a bit on the high side ( 7.2 ) and thats why the colors are not in "full bloom"
it is in 6.8 ph and divided from my rowdy rays.
