New Ray

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Is the video supposed to be the ray in the act of freaking out? The video IMO shows a healthy active ray, although a little skinny.

You wouldn't happen to have a heater in the tank would you?

I would also carefully asses anything inside the tank that may be sharp and cause damage.

Good luck, I hope he makes it and lets get this ray back on track. You seem to know what you are talking about.

P.S. Pictures of the wound would also enable one of our specialist to pin down the culprit.

Doesnt seem to be freaking out much in the video, belly is pretty pink. He might just be stressed from the move, try keeping the lights low and maybe add some aquarium salt if you haven't already, it always seems to help calm them down.

Might want to check the other motoro's barb just to make sure its still sheathed, havent seen a ray sting another yet but you never know.

I don't know seeing the nitrates so low.... Thats very odd... Nitrates are supposed to be up around 40ish unless you just did a WC.... but, If you do have a heater in there it could have burned the ray too

There is a heater in the tank itself (covered with PVC with a ton of holes drilled in it) and there is one in the sump. I'll try and get some better picture tomorrow I'm having issues with my camera. The video was after he stopped freaking out and was seeming to be normally exploring the tank I was trying to get that spot but of course when I got the camera out he wouldnt swim up the front glass.

I probably am just over reacting because its new. Though he ate a lot of blackworms last night and seemed to have no problem with them.

ya... I started freaking out when my motoro didn't wanna eat one night, but found out 20mins later she needed to take a huge dump, then started eating again haha

youre not talkin about the black spot in the middle are you?

OOOOH that!? My female marble has the same thing. Some have it some dont. dont worry im 99.9% sure your just fine
