bro, you paid $54 for it?
it's all good though, you can't go wrong with citrinellus.

i feed mine silversides, mysis, hikari bio gold and sometimes if he's lucky i'll throw in a crap load of blood worms.
mysis and hikari are probably the best things you can feed him.
prawns are lovely to.

i remember when i got my citrinellus, for my birthday.
he was only like 3" then, now he's 12.5" or something like that.
got him in grade 10, grade 12 baby, he's all alone in his 125 gallon.
tank might be tight for him, but it's good to have a wet pet in your room.

just turn on his light at night and watch him bite the glass mang.

what about my 2 question

Dmann kind of answered the second question, too. Things high in protein will help, like mysis shrimp, krill, prawns, and blood worms. I'd keep feeding him that other stuff if it gives him that color! Cool fish!

this is a beautiful red devil... just feed him a good variety of different foods but keep the cichlid pellets as his main staple.... since this is the food that has the most vitamins and minerals in one source... keep doing frequent water changes.. the better the water quality the better the fish overall health... the hump on the head will come with maturity... mostly pronounced kok in males... males with a female mate have the most pronounced kok that i have noticed...but hard to have a pair unless the tank is good size..males often beat up the female so u need another tank if things get rough.. once the female is mature and wanting to breed they are usually okay together..... but not always... females have the hump too just not as much... good luck with your RD

thanks for all your comments its around 7 inch
