Don't give out false information. There is no "true" red texas and they can fade at any stage of their life.

Its not false info! A red texas should be red when a juvenille. You cant just mix any fish with a texas and call it a red texas.

Red devil and texas makes red texas

Selective breeding and chance. Go ahead and breed some red devils with texas. Id love to see all the red texas you produce.

Not true...
Some RT don't even show red @ all.
Most carry over the Texas gene so they appear a more green/brown base when small, & most will be pink or a drab pink when older.
You're lucky if you get a SRT/RT that is red, but you get what you pay for.:naughty:

From what I've gather SRT/Rt's: Mammon/King Kong Parrot + Texas = SRT.
But you have to do a lot of selective breeding to get the fish pink.and carry over good pearling.
If you want red, you need to do a lot of home work.:naughty:

Some ppl call RD + Texas, RT but in the end they're all just hybrids.
The high quality SRT/RT's you see sold for $1000's of dollars are not RD x Texas I can guarantee you that.

I have RT fry that I'm trying to breed back to some of my RD/Midas to get a more red base & thick body(I don't want a water kok I'd rather have a natural nuchal hump).
Will they be what the consider real SRT/RT's...???...
Nope, just a nice looking red hybrid with nice pearls.
Will it resemble a SRT/RT, probably.
:headbang2

This is the downside of flooding the market with low grade hybrids, ppl call the fish what they want, & there's no real way to trace the lineage of your fish.
