Today at work we got two new "Highfin rainbow wolffish" in. I researched these guys a bit for the past few days due to a sudden interest (primarily one attacking a coworker :D).

Anyways, the only time I ever saw one it was 49.99 and quite a drive from me. The new guy was much cheaper and looked awesome!

Anyways, he is in a 20g by himself right now and he already ate 5 rosys :headbang2
So what other kinds of fish can go with a rainbow wolf? I almost put him in my whitewater tank, but then I remembered that wolffish do not like fast water and he would probably eat the two smaller catfish. I know these are supposedly less aggressive than the regular wolf fish, so I am having hope for future tank mates!

Depends on your wolf dude. Fish to big to eat he still might kill just cause he can.

Bigger tank would help.

Yep.Mine would only chase other fish when it was feeding time.He wanted all of the food for himself, easily my favorite of the wolves though.

The only reason he is in a 20 gallon, is because I am unsure if he can have tank mates or not.

Maybe I will buy some cheap fish from the LFS and see if they can survive with the wolf.

That's one brightly colored Wolf and judging from the last pic a jumper too. My old Hi-fin lived somewhat peacefully with a breeding pair of Salvini. The Sal's weren't starteled one bit by the Wolves atittude, they wouldn't run nor backdown.

I'd say he likes to fly more than jump. I tried mixing a large convict with my wolf, but the wolffish was mauling him to the point I had to literally pull the wolffish off with a net.

This wolf also tries to bite the siphon and my hand when I water change his tank. I usually net him during W/Cs and my girlfriend holds it so he doesn't get out. I thought about putting him in a larger tank and mixing him with different kinds of fish, but I think he just wants his own tank and in a larger tank with more aggressive fish he would probably hide more. Right now he is always swimming around following everybody that walks past him.

I think he is nearly full grown at 6". He hasn't grown much since he hit that size and he just gets fat after big feedings. He seems happy in his 20g tank so I think I will just try to keep in in that.

6 inch is about the max for these guys, you would be lucky to get another inch out of him. be very weary of these guys leaping ability. I have lost more than a few due to jumping through tiny spaces.
