Great job turning Paul around. The former owner must have something against Fresh Water! I can't wait till I have enough space to get a GG!

I know he's scarred for life but that doesn't mean I can't make him any healthier.

Great attitude. He can still make a great pet. One of my favorite fish was a save and heal up project that I'm glad I took a chance on. Keep up the good work.

i just got back from sandal's Jamaica and saw a critter ilike your's. it's housed in a pond in ocho rios. jamaica, on a sandal's resort. i amlost think it might be the same type of gourami. the sandal's employee told me that it was an "INDIAN PERCH." i have a pic but i don't know how to post it to this thread.

Giant Gourami's make good eating here in Thailand also. Their flesh is one of best tasting I've ever had. But still I wont eat the fish I keep though, unlike Tequila haha. I always end up releasing them into a local pond near my home.

You people will eat anything won't you? I bought my pet bullfrog at a asian food market that also sells live tilapia, softshell turtles, eel, and a few other type of fish. It's been over 5 years since I've eaten meat, bird, or fish so eating Paul never crossed my mind accept when trying to rehome him on craigslist for cheap. Paul doesn't sound too appetizing if he tasted like any freshwater fish here I'd assume he would taste like carp which is basically the nastiest freshwater fish.

Nice work with the turnaround. Carp is actually pretty delicious if prepared right. I have a few friends from Indonesia who tell me its pretty normal to eat in their country and they've made me soup, patties, and baked carp. Each one was delicious.
