New Rhom Fin Rot HELP!

I'm almost 100% percent sure it wasn't because od the exodons. But heres an update. I noticed white fungal looking substances on the rotten part of the tail and after 2 days of medications and water changes these white fungal looking things have started to fall off. Only one region on the tail remain with this white stuff. The rhom is still hiding in its cave. Anyone know how long it takes before a piranha becomes comfortable with their new enviorment. Mine has just been inside his cave the last 2 days.
Having Exos in the tank with him is not a good idea. they will pester him non stop and also contribute to the shy and hiding behavior.
do you have pics of your set up? I'm just curious. I've seen small red bellies with exodons but never a rhom.
