New Rope Fish :)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah i was also thinking of the ropefish being food since ornates get quite large, but if i find a 4-5" ornate, i wont be able to resist lol. but i am well prepared to remove it into my other tanks if anything does happen.

ok, so night i was looking everywhere in the tank to find the ropefish, couldnt find it. same thing this morning. i go downstairs searching for it and try feeding it cut up shrimp, and there it is dried up on the ground! my tank is fully covered! the only way it could have gotten out is the tiniest little crack because of the heater cord. i have no clue how it would have fit through that hole. i bought him from petsmart, and petsmart offers a 14 day garantee on fish. would this still apply because he jumped out, or would i have to lie to them and say it died?

ye i know they are really good at escaping. but this wasnt even a crack that a fish could have jumped out of. he must have tried really hard to get out. anyway, i just got back and petsmart was surprisingly really good with it. they replaced my ropefish. but the one i just brought home was the smallest of the three but the last one left since friday.

It's possible he snuck out behind the intake or outake for the filter. They can stick a fair way into the tank, leaving a gap large enough to get out.

yea thats a possibility.

impossible to get out of this one

it could have gotten out from this end, but would have been really tight.
