is there an obvious difference that i'm suppose to see? i mean, although it is an extremely beautiful fish you have, i see no difference from the green terrors i see everyday.
let me know.

I was also skeptical about this like you, so I am doing an experiment. There were two tanks of green terrors at the fish store, so I bought one of each. I bought the royal green terror, which is my big beautiful boy up above, and another "regular" green terror, who is only about 2 and a half inches long. When they grow up, i'll see a difference. So far, the only difference is size and the obvious differences between juveniles of different ages.

i believe that bostonpatriot also bought the "royal" green terrors... I dont think the fish store knew what the difference was either. We'll see

well i have heard of a "silver tip" green terror? but never a royal green. let me know how that works out. i really hope you didn't get messed over. lol. i tell you what. i will also check into this for you and ask my fish supplier.

Yup. The difference I have noticed so far between my Royal GT and my reg has been the color. Seems that it is more noticable in person than in photos. (I think all GT's are very photogenic)My reg GT is about 2 inches bigger than the royal. They are both males and my reg has great color but the royal is already showing a more vibrant green one the sides and the orange along the fins is a lighter shade. I was told that the adult "royal" will show better color, fins and body shape because they are selectivly bred. Time will tell how much of a difference there will be.

I have seen a couple different stores in the area selling these under the same name and was told that there was one one breeder in the Boston area selectivly breeding these.
Who knows but I actually paid less for the "Royal" than I did the regular.

I think the regs are harder to get, at least it seems so in the Indy area

It is really hard to get a reg GT here that isn't mixed with anything like a Acara. I'd love to get a wild caught GT but I refuse to pay for shipping which is usually more than what the fish costs.

Id love to see the difference in regulars and the ones mixed in with other fish.

great looking fish. i wish i could go get one my self... my tank is already so crowded though.
