Wow, beautiful fish!! I've never had a SW tank, always been too scared to try!
Will definitely keep up with his growth. But yeah I rarely see saltwater monster tanks anymore and while I’m not big on reef tanks saltwater has always been fun to me just much more expensive hahaMan, that is one of the fish that originally got me interested in saltwater. It’s fantastic seeing it being kept by someone on this site. Definitely let me know how it goes with him will ya? I want to keep one some day.
It’s really not too hard. The initial jump in can be intimidating but if you do it right and just setup a FOWLR the general maintenance can actually be easier than a FW tank. But like I said, Just more pricey to begin hahaWow, beautiful fish!! I've never had a SW tank, always been too scared to try!
A new aquatics shop opened up near me and had been making me want to set up a new salt tank for the past few months. I also figured since I do tank maintenance/aquascaping for others it couldn’t hurt to get some more salt experience. Being me, though, I wasn’t interested in starting super small but didn’t want to pull my 240 out of storage just yet. So, I’ve been cycling a 100g Uniquarium I’ve been fixing up and building a stand for.
Finally went by the shop today and found my first inhabitant! he’s about 1.75” and one of the cutest and most “bubbly” fish I’ve ever owned. He already eats from my hand and will follow my finger around in the water. He’ll also play peek-a-boo with me. Real excited to start growing him out and have monster peacock bass and monster sea bass! ?
