I would have stuck to my original thread but it appears to be missing even if I search for it. Any way here's my 180 gallon I recently moved out all the gravel and some wood I think was rotting over a two week span. The fish are a little sketched out from me being all in there but I hope they'll get back to normal soon. Looks so much better, I wish I stuck to my guns and kept it bare in the beginning.

I suggest you remove the rocks, put the wood back in, throw your heaters in your sump pond near the return pump.

Edit, just read that the wood was rotting. In that case get another price of wood

The wood was rotting and stunk tbh, I had the heaters in the sump through the summer but being a cold uninsulated basement I need them up there it didnt stay at the temp I needed. Why remove the rocks though?

I'd throw another piece of wood in there too! Or at least something to hide the heaters.

I know those heaters are hideous lol. But when it gets warmer next year Ill try to move them to the sump again. I just dont wanna risk it getting too cold.

X2 I would've just replaced the wood and removed that large rock.

Its funny you mention that. The rock went first cause Im pretty sure my o that died got chased between the rock and the glass and thats why it died.

Also ill be honest. I got sick of gravel vacuuming lol. Still might put down black sand in the future IDK yet. Thanks for the feedback though everyone!

If you're sick of vacuuming, you may not want black sand. Black sand shows every little piece of debris and doodie that settles on it.

I don't care for bare bottom tanks, so I'm bias, but I like the tank the way it was originally.......but you gotta do what makes you happy

Cleaning and also there colors are something else when there's no light gravel or anything showing. Again with cleaning I plan on adding more bass soon and I want to make it as easy as possible to keep that water quality perfect.
