Long island
I wanted to share with you guys a new tank I just bought from a closing down pet store in my area due to a fire. I think it’s going to be a great tank for rays, around 180 gallons the tank dimensions are 6’x4’x1’. They previously used it as a frag tank. I’m going to finish my basement then set it all up. Couldn’t pass on the tank and deal I got. Tank is made up of all glass and weighed probably about 600lbs due to the odd demensions and amount of glass I would guess.

This is the shrimp tank every shrimp keeper dreams of :p.

The tank is great, wouldn’t the middle overflow take a lot of swimming space away from the rays though. I would move it to the back but still a great tank

I was thinking the same thing but I like the idea of putting it in the center of the room, I might need to stick to rays that have a disc of only 20” so it can clear the overflow. Still deciding if I should go saltwater rays or fresh. The blue dot ray would be a good choice same with a bamboo shark. I’m thinking a lot of fresh rays grow to big. Is the one foot depth an issue for rays?

If you go saltwater maybe get a horn shark? They're nice.
Not sure about the depth.

I would say go saltwater as most of the FW rays do get to big. I don’t know about sharks but you could have some other cool saltwater predators. And 12” height should be okay for smaller rays.

Just put of curiosity how did you transport a 7 foot tank? From the dashboard to the back of the car is barely 7 feet.
